The founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)
and former Prime Minister Imran Khan has issued a final warning to the
government, announcing that no future rallies will be cancelled. PTI leaders
have assured that Imran Khan himself decided to cancel today's rally based on
the information provided to him.
Senator Humayun Mohmand spoke to the media about the cancellation of the rally.
stating, "The founder of PTI has
clearly said that the government is being given our final warning. We are now
listening to the government one last time. No future rally will be cancelled,
and no leniency will be given to the government." He explained that Imran
Khan decided to cancel today’s rally himself based on the information provided
by the government.
Senator Mohmand further detailed that
"Intizar Hussain Panjotha" was sent a message saying that permission
was granted in his name. After this, Intizar Hussain Panjotha went to meet the
PTI founder Imran Khan at Adiala Jail. However, despite having permission at
Adiala Jail, Intizar Hussain Panjotha was prevented from entering the jail and
was not allowed to meet the PTI founder. In light of this situation, Imran Khan
immediately instructed to cancel the rally in Tarnol.
National Assembly Opposition Leader Omar
Ayub, while speaking to the media, said, "I could be arrested at any
time." He added, "I have a court appearance, but I am here to speak
on a national issue." Omar Ayub accused the government of plotting to
spread unrest under the guise of the rally and stated that the date of the
Islamabad rally was changed on the PTI founder’s directive.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin
Gandapur also commented on the cancellation of the rally. He said that Imran
Khan has set another example of upholding the constitution and law. He
confirmed that "the PTI founder does not want conflict, and the rally will
be held whenever Imran Khan wants." Ali Amin Gandapur stated that the PTI
founder directed to cancel the rally in Tarnol and decided to hold it in
Islamabad on September 8.
He added, "We want the supremacy of the
constitution and law in the country and are a democratic party." The Chief
Minister also confirmed that despite the NOC being cancelled, today’s rally was
supposed to happen, but it was cancelled on the PTI founder’s order. The
preparation for the rally in Islamabad on September 8 will be in full swing.
Ali Amin Gandapur also sent a message to PTI workers to prepare for the rally
on September 8 and to encourage the public to come out. He said, "We do
not want any kind of conflict, and we received information that a religious
party is also protesting in Islamabad, so the PTI founder instructed to cancel
the Tarnol rally immediately."
PTI MNA Sher Afzal Marwat Released After Arrest.
Islamabad police had arrested PTI Member of
National Assembly Sher Afzal Marwat, but he has been released today. According
to details, Islamabad police stopped Sher Afzal Marwat’s car and transferred
him to Golra Police Station, along with detaining PTI workers. Later, the
police released Sher Afzal Marwat on the assurance that he would not incite any
unrest.
The NOC for today’s PTI rally in Islamabad
has been cancelled. The district administration decided not to grant permission
for the rally considering the protest call from religious parties. As a result,
PTI announced the postponement of the scheduled rally in Tarnol and promised to
announce a new date for the rally based on instructions from Imran Khan in
jail.
Opposition Leader Omar Ayub, PTI leader Azam
Swati, and Chairman Barrister Gohar had an emergency meeting with Imran Khan at
Adiala Jail, where the decision was made to change the rally date. According to
the new schedule, the rally in Islamabad is expected to be on September 8 or 9.
Party workers have been instructed to continue preparing for the rally.
Aleema Khan Questions PTI Rally Cancellation and Criticizes Azam Swati’s Meeting.
Imran Khan’s sister Aleema Khan has raised
questions about the PTI's cancellation of today's rally in Islamabad. She
criticized that Azam Swati went to meet Imran Khan in jail early in the morning
and delivered the message to postpone the rally. She expressed surprise at how
a meeting at Adiala Jail at 7:30 AM was possible and noted that the current PTI
leadership seems to have no intention of getting Imran Khan out of jail.
Aleema Khan asked why the party chairman did
not make the decision to cancel the rally himself if he is outside. Decisions
are being made in Imran Khan’s name instead of by him personally.
Previously, PTI Secretary General Omar Ayub
Khan had issued a statement saying that Imran Khan had given important
instructions from jail, leading to the postponement of today's rally. The
decision was based on the fear that the government might use the rally to
create unrest. Party leaders said that a new date for the rally would be
announced soon.
Barrister Gohar stated that Azam Swati
announced the postponement of the rally after meeting Imran Khan at Adiala
Jail, and now the rally will be held on September 8 or 9. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur also confirmed that the rally in Islamabad on
September 8 will take place, as Imran Khan ordered the postponement of today’s
rally.
